not sure if this is in the right section..was thinking about the for sale section but technically I'm not offering it for sale so was a bit confused...
Basically I'm doing a full system upgrade and my housemate wants a cheap computer that can play some games (but isn't worried about top end and prettiest settings etc) my old parts should suit her well so I was thinking about handing everything off to her... She won't just use my old computer insists she has to buy it off me (for her own peace of mind)
now this is my closest friend so I want a fair price (ie not the most I can squeeze out of someone but what the thing is really worth
) but really have no idea what the old components are worth
if I could get some even rough estimates that would be fantastic ^_^
Basically the system would be
C2D E6600 (the original models not the newer ones so 2.4ghz) with stock cooler
Asus P5K P35 Motherboard
4GB of DD2 RAM (Can't remember the brand off the top of my head but pretty sure I bought a budget line RAM from a reliable brand)
8800GTX (again can't remember brand but it's a reference board design bought when they were brand new)
Thermaltake Kandalf black steel case
PSU is complicated...can't remember exactly what it was and the branding on it isn't visable where it is in my case (and it's a bastard to pull out) but it's about 500w and again cheap line reliable brand probably antec if I remember correctly)
Western Digital Velociraptor 300GB
oh and Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit OEM
MB is about 1 year old (old one got fried during a storm), PSU is about 18months, Velociraptor is 3 years old everything else is just over 4 years old
The case is massive overkill for her (almost 20kg steel supertower....) so might consider doing something else with that and figuring an alternative solution
I'm pretty wiped and a bit sick so I might have left out some vital info if so just ask and I'll provide anything extra I can
