Hi, I currently have one the the alpha (black anodized with octagonal pins coming out of it and a copper base) heatsinks with a sunon fan on it. It does a nice job of cooling my processor. I was wondering if a swiftech 426 or whatever it is with the copper base and the butload of pins, with a really quiet 80mm fan like the panaflow L1a 80mm that pushes ~25cfm of air would do a good job. I am looking for somthing that could keep my max temp around 55c which my current set-up does well.

Thanks!!!!

What temps are you currently getting? I think the 462 with a 25cfm fan will cool equally if not better than your current setup. No, most likely better.

I use a 60-80mm adapter and a 26cfm fan 80mm on a PAL6035 and I am getting around 53C - 55C full load with a SX 1030 with 4 fans (19cfm each) and my TBird@1500 at 25C room temp. Maybe you should just put the L1A on the Alpha and see what you get, The 462 is mighty expensive after all...
