Hey everyone,

I am pretty computer savvy but have been out of the loop lately in regards to good and price-friendly laptops. I was thinking about purchasing a Sony Vaio TR series laptop or one that is very similiar. I am looking for something compact but at the same time very good and reliable. I would appreciate if you guys could fill me in on what you think would be the best laptop to purchase at this time.

My pricerange is anywhere from $2000 - $3000. Give or take a few hundred.

All comments are greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

In that price range for the money I'd get an Emachines M6809, can't really beat it for the price / features, it's under 2 grand and has pretty killer performance, only small downside is that it only comes w/ a 64mb mobile raedon 9600, otherwise and all around good machine.

Isn't that the big, bulky, power hungry AMD64 notebook?
