Well i cant justify buying regular dvd's if I can get hidef for a little more so I want to purchase an HD dvd player. I currently have a 40in Samsung 4061F which is a 1080p set. Will there be any difference between the A3 or A30 in image quality? I dont plan on buying another TV set for a long time but do plan on buying a new home theater sometime soon (either one of the yamaha YSP systems or a receiver with hdmi and some speakers).

I have read that i wont see a difference so saving the 100 dollar difference would be the best bet?

If you watch movies (24fps) and the TV has a good deinterlacer (which samsung should) there is no difference. If you watch TV shows (30fps), there may be a slight difference.

Unless your TV can do 24fps you probably won't see any difference between the two.

The A30 supposedly has slightly better upconversion of DVDs.

so that reveiw basically says that the A30 has poor 1080p output and that the A3 would be better since its cheaper and my TV should deinterlace it into 1080p? Thats what I seem to get out of it. My main use for my TV is movies and then maybe some HDTV from cable (not sure if im gonna get any tv service and just stick with movies yet)
