Hi all. This is my first computer build so if you guys could take a quick look and make sure I'm not doing anything dumb it would be much appreciated.

Here's what I'm looking at:

Case: Antec Super Lanboy ATX Case
PSU: SeaSonic Super Silencer 400W ATX (Output: +3.3V@28A, +5V@30A, +12V@22A, -12V@0.8A, +5VSB@2A)
Motherboard: DFI MB LanParty UT NF3 250GB S754
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3400+
Heatsink/fan: Thermaltake A1838 AMD Opteron/Athlon 64
Memory: Corsair Value Select (Dual Pack) 184 Pin 512 Mbx2 DDR OEM
Video Card: eVGA nVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT Video Card With Free Doom 3Bundle
Hard Drive: Seagate 160GB 7200RPM IDE Hard Drive ? Retail
DVD+/-RW: Sony Internal 16X DVD+R / Double Layer/DVD+RW Drive, Model DRU710A, Retail
Floppy: SONY Black 1.44MB 3.5inch Floppy Disk Drive, Model MPF920, OEM
Sound Card: Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS GAMER Limited Edition PCI Sound Card, Model "SB0350" -RETAIL
OS: Microsoft Windows XP Professional With Service Pack 2 -OEM

I already have the case and HDD since I caught deals on them at CompUSA and the motherboard/processor/heatsink was ordered today from Monarch. I can't see that stuff being an issue but I'm sure I could intercept the order still if really necessary.

I know a lot of people aren't going to approve of the TT heatsink/fan but it was inexpensive and they can ship the combo with it already mounted so I'm going to give it a try and if it's a disappointment, I'll ditch it later.

My main questions are...
1. Is my PSU powerful enough for this rig with a little headroom in case I do a hard drive or (not likely) more powerful video card?

2. Is that corsair RAM compatible with my motherboard and a reasonable choice for the system? I don't have any big overclocking plans at this point.

Thanks!

Very nice setup.

I would have gone with socket 939 for extra upgradability and overclocking. You aren't overclocking so that advantage is gone. If you dont upgrade often and every cpu upgrade you swap motherboard, then socket 754 is just fine.

That ram should work.

As far as the power supply goes, i'd probably get OCZ 420 from ExcaliberPC.com for $87 (this includes shipping). It looks better, has a green LED, adjustable rails for more stable voltage, stronger 12V rail and costs less with shipping than the one you are ordering.

RussianSensation: I checked into that PSU. Very interesting. I've not seen one like that before with the adjustable rails and LED indicatiors. I checked some reviews including one at SilentPCReview.com where the SeaSonic had been highly recommended and it did well, but had a few drawbacks that I wasn't comfortable with. Thanks for the tip though.

To all:
Thanks for the input guys! I placed the remaining order last night for the brunt of the components. Hopefully the setup will go smoothly.

Kudos to Monarch also. I placed my order for the mbd/cpu combo w/ heatsink early in the afternoon and got notification that it had shipped by the end of the night! :D
