How many of the cards in that list would I be approved for? Again, I don't have bad credit, I just don't have much credit.

With what, your credit score? Gottadeal.com has all the CC info that you need.

I'm basically trying to decide which credit card(s) I should apply for having not much established credit. I know _how_ I need to establish good credit and such, I just haven't had much experience yet. Basically, I need more accounts (and my credit report says so!).

Should I apply for an Amex? Mastercard? Another Visa? I'll most likely have to apply for a student card given my situation.

Thanks!

Whichever credit card you get approved for.

CitiBank offers the Virtual Account Number feature and it's very nice :)

Sweet! I applied for a Discover last week and just applied for a CitiBank Platinum for students. Both have given me the "need further research" and I'll hear in the mail.

Oh well. I'll keep trying. :)

The long: OK, now hold your horses man... each time you apply for a credit card, the CC company make a credit enquiry that stays on your credit report for a while (two years?). the higher the number of enquiries on your credit report is, the lower your score will be. People are rarely rejected for student cards in my experience, but I think discover will say no and Citibank will give you a card.

The short: Don't apply for any more cards until you hear from Discover and Citibank.

Thanks for the advice. That's what I was planning to do. :)

whoa there... slow down my man..

As someone mention, applying for alot of credit, in that short amount of time, will trigger a "credit problem"

You're a student, get the Citi Divident Platinum Select for Students. It's pretty easy for a student to get a credit card. (Especially a student card)

Agreed. I'm going to wait and hear from Discover and Citibank before even thinking of anything else.
