Looking to make sure 620W is enough

Hi everybody,

I've been reading the forums and you all post some great info in here. Definitely helped a ton in catching up since the last build I did 4 years ago.

I'm looking for some confirmation on a power supply for the following rig:

Q6600 (plan to OC)
EVGA 8800GTX
4GB RAM (probably 2x2GB 6400 HP kit from Mushkin)
150GB Raptor
DVD burner

Not sure on the MB, can't decide between 680i or wait for X38. I will likely add another hard drive or two, and would like the room to SLI another 8800GTX a few years down the road.

Will the Corsair 620HX cover me? Any other recommendations? If possible, I'm looking for modular cables (love how clean they are) and good efficiency.

Thanks

The Corsair 620W will do fine, one of them ran an OC'd Q6600 and 2x 8800GTX in SLI without a problem. It is a strong PSU.

Thanks, I wasn't sure that the 620HX would provide enough juice for two GTX cards. I saw the Enermax reviewed as well, looks sexy. I've had good results with Enermax before, but jonnyGURUs comments about the short cables worry me. I'm putting this in a P182.

@jedi True, I've seen the resistance hits you can take from modular supplies, but near 80s still seem reasonable. Definitely attainable if the supplier planned for the drop at design time. =)

The modular Corsair HX & Infiniti's are more efficient (80-83%) than most non-modular high quality psu's.
