Looking to jailbreak it, or pwn it, or whatever the hell you do to the itouch vs iphone. I mainly want to do this so i can see my apptmnts on the main screen, and emails without unlocking so i know if i have any... plus the weather... what is the best way to go about this on a MAC?

Grab a copy of Quickpwn from the Dev-Team (not hard to find on google). The program has built-in instructions. After the jailbreak is over, run the new Cydia program on the phone. Search for Intelliscreen. Install. Be happy.
 
okay, hope to get this done today, thanks for the info, i was just continuing to find ppl talking about the iphone and not the touch, which sucked, then i had to confirm shit about my first gen since i flashed it to 2.2, etc.. grr so many variations.
