This is probably a topic beat to death, but i couldn't seem to find anything too usefull with the search function...

Anyway, I have a 2.4@3 currently on an IS7, according to the system temp monitor my cpu hovers between 57-61C while gaming. If I'm not mistaken that's on the higher end of the preferred spectrum. I think my cpu's V is at 1.55 or 1.6 (can't remember off the top of my head).

anyway, which (non liquid) solutions can someone recommend to bring those temps down?

Also, the abit line seems to have a history with crappy temp readings, is this still the case with my is7 (bios 17 i think) or are the readings accurate?

I am using some type of thermal paste (came with my memory sticks) as opposed to the stock intel thermal pad (but for some reason i don't feel 100% sure about that all of a sudden...)

chieftec with side panel, 2 front fans blowing in, 1 side blowing in, 2 back blowing out.
aspire turbo case blue 500w PS, 2 fans blowing out.

TIA

The temps are high because it is an Abit board. I wouldn't worry about it.

But I 2nd John's recommendation for a heatsink. That or the Zalman alcu7000 which I have and works great.

Another recommendation on the Zalman alcu7000.

Replaced my Vantec Aerocooler w/c ran like a jet @5500rpm and vibrated the entire chassis to no end.
