Looking to get into water cooling

I just got a new Core 2 Duo rig with an 8800GTS and this thing runs REALLY hot. In fact, so hot it has overheated twice while running Crysis. I am thinking I may need to hit up water cooling. For right now taking the door off and putting a fan facing in fixed it but....it sucks...

Anyways, I was hoping to get in on a CPU and GPU cooler for under $400 if it's possible. The less the better honestly but ya know... Anyways, I was kinda looking at Koolance o something but honestly I'm totally new (though I build all my systems custom so I can figure it out) and I'm having trouble telling what will be enough. Also, I'd hate to liquid cool my CPU/GPU and leave out some critical system component and do damage.

My main Qs are since I'll be leaving to 60mm fans in the case so I need to worry about the mobo or anything overheating? Are there any parts I'm missing?

Also, I'm kinda confused on what exactly the size of the pump needs to be to get a good flow to these parts. Could something like the thermaltake hold enough liquid to cool it all?

Thanks in advance, sorry if the questions are horribly noobish. I just can't seem to find any good reviews of everything on google. I can find reviews of each part but that's really it.

EDIT: I was hoping to get in on an option like this:

1. Read my sticky linked at the bottom for general ideas and concepts on h2o cooling.
2. 60mm fans??? im guessing you have one small case I need more info on your case. If its tiny your going to need an external solution:

Contact Seth. He's about your only hope in a small case, unless your thinkn of upgrading cases.

It's a midsize tower. The mobo only has 3 PCI slots on it and then then single PCI-E. I don't know the model number. I went and bought an HP on UBER sale at bestbuy and then tossed the 500watt power supply, 8800GTS and another gig of ram in. Was a great deal coming in at under $1,000. Anyways, I'll def take a look at your sticky. I was originally looking at one of the Koolance external options. Only thing that kills me is that running just the CPU/GPU cooler on a Koolance external system would run me over $400 without shipping or anything. At that point honestly I could change the case and the mobo to spread everything out more and that might solve the problem right there.

koolance, thermaltake, XSPC, AquaComputers = CRAP.

Well they have the best advertising that's for sure. 😛 Who would you suggest? You explicitely leave that out in your review.

There's no way your rig should be overheating though. Airflow in your case must suck bigtime. I bet if you toss the case, buy a decent one like an antec 900, your problems will be solved ... Unless ambient temps in your place are 35c and up all the time...

Check out petrastechshop.com. Service, selection, and price are outstanding and they have bundled systems comprised of top quality components at really good prices. If you have questions they actually answer the phone and are very helpful.

Thats Seth, creator of waterkegs, personal site.

And yeah mid tower is going to blow for a full stage cooling that can handle a quadcore + 8800GTS.

Your going to need at least a 120x3 radiator, and thats going to get very difficult to mount unless you have leet mod skills.
