looking to get into scsi

what scsi card should i buy? i want a good one (i know back in the day you were the $hit if you had the 2940u2w ) for todays standards. i dont want to pay 200 bucks for one though


is adaptec still number one? give me like a list of what i should buy first, second, etc...

Based on your description you should stick with IDE.

I would check Egay. My mom picked up a Adaptec 39160 (I believe) a couple months abck for the stupid low price of like 120 bucks, new in box. I was shocked. If you could find a deal like that, well, nuff said.

Exactly, I just picked up a 18gig Seagate X15 in the for sale forum here for 120 bucks. I hope your wallet is packed if you plan on buying new/retail for the latest SCSI hardware.
