Looking to get another desktop for school use/no gaming

Going to pickup another desktop during the tax free weekend in a few days and I'm confused on which machine to get. Both are $579.

Circuit City has this Acer with a 19 inch widescreen LCD. And Best Buy has this Dell with 17 inch widescreen LCD and printer.

I already have 2 printers here, so thats not a big concern. I've never delt with Acer computers before so I'm a little unsure on that machine. I have had experience with Dell. However the bigger LCD monitor on the Acer is a nice advantage over the Dell.

I'm sure I could probably order or build something better for the price online, but I need to pickup something this week in store if possible.

My 7 year old Dell is still running fine. I'd go with Dell. I hear Acer is bad.

Really? My Acer has been going 4 years strong (still use it). The only thing i needed to replace was the battery. It survived coffee and tea spills. I personally like them.
