looking to get a new processor B/C/E

I have a 2.4a, which has served me well for the past few months, but i want to get a new chip although not change much else. With 2700 ram that can run at about 185 stable, do you think its worth getting a 2.4B and overclocking it heavily Should i get a 3.06 with HT, or should get a 2.8 without etc... or should i wait 6 more months and get a full system upgrade?

Your current 3.4GHz CPU isn't enough for you?
Best "bang-for-the-buck" right now in Intel CPUs is the 2.8C.
Remember though: any CPU you buy now that isn't already clocked higher than your current CPU isn't guaranteed to be any faster (except for the addition of HT, and any bandwidth improvements you get from a higher FSB).
If *I* were you, I'd stick with what I had and be happy until something significantly faster came along.
Just my two cents.

yeah true, i guess that is probably the best idea. I thought the added FSB would increase performance much more than just the "3.4" of my p4a, but i guess i should get more ram for that then.
