Looking to expand into the USA, but how?

What would one do if they had a technology business that they were looking to expand into the USA? More specifically if one were looking to setup US distributors to move software code and some small hardware components? Where would one begin to look for people that would qualify and would have an interest? They could quite possibly make good money?
