Any suggestions? I'm looking to get a dip and pull-up station on the cheap. I'll probably have to build one since my budget is practically non-existent. Any guides you guys can recommend?

Where are you going to put the pullup station? In a door frame? Anchored to a joist? Anchored to a wall? Free-standing?

I do this:

Besides dips, what other exercises do you perform on the rings?

OP: check Craigslist. If it's active in your area, you should be able to get a good deal on one as most people aren't shopping for these or have the room for it. I scored such a deal on one.

Besides dips, what other exercises do you perform on the rings?

-Static holds like L-sits
-Lower them down and do pushups for different range of motion (can mimic dumbbell flys)
-Muscle-ups (even within the doorway there)

Nothing inverted (ring handstand pushups? f-that  ) and no large swinging motions.

Make them higher for chin-ups, pull-ups, back lever progressions, rows. Google ring exercises and you'll find a ton of stuff.

Definitely this. I scored a chin up bar/ dip stand for 10.00 on CL. Lady tried to give me a workout station with the weights on cables, type set, but I had no way of getting it home. Plus she had a tradmill and stationary bike she tried to give me. Late Sunday scores FTW.

Where would one look for fitness equipment in Craigslist? There's no actual "Fitness Equipment" category. Household? Beauty and Health? Sporting?

Just use searchtempest and it should bring up ads with it. That is how I search craigslist at least.

Sporting good by owner although I do suppose you could perhaps find fitness equipment also listed under garage sales as well. To get started, do a search for "tower" or "pullup" or "pull up" in sporting goods to see what pops up. Patience is a virtue, if you don't find what you want now or at your asking price, it could pop up later. You'd be best served by setting up some sort of automatic alert to notify you when something matching your criteria is posted. There's are some absolute steals out there if you are patient, persistent, and quick to act.
