Hey im looking to buy a 3200+ barton xp and i would like to know the best motherboard and ram options i have. Im not looking to overclock at all i just want the best scomponents i can get for the money to go along with this chip. I would appreciate any replies thank you.
 
Unless the barton is dirt cheap, I would go with a sempron 64 with 256 cache, and overclock it. The 2500, 2800, 3000 and higher all have 256 cache. Other models only come with 128 cache. The 3200 barton runs well, but is already discontinued. I'm running 64 bit xp pro (a free trial download), and it works very well. I use the 2800 athlon 64 and 3200 socket 939. Prices have come down on the 3200 939. Fry's had some great combo specials recently, and I got mine with board for $170.
