looking to buy car

I am looking for the best price/performance vehicle. Car just needs me to get from point a to point b. I want a fuel economy car with four doors. The vehicle can be used as I have never bought a brand new car and don't want to lose thousands after I drive it off the lot. Though used cars are much more expensive than when I bought my current car. I drive a ford focus now.

go get a viper...

how old are you? how much money are you willing to spend? i can easily say the new civic...but that might not be waht your'e lookign for.

new civic is ~19k that's pretty expensive imo; I bought my 2001 focus for 6200 when it had 25000 miles on it. Though I know I got a killer deal at the time.

Only problem is that it will fold like an aluminum can in a wreck.

Beyond the usual civic, carolla/prizim recomendations, look for a 03-05 Ford Focus.

Mitsu Lancer circa '02-'03 can be had for cheap, and they are faster than a civic. Scion's are pretty cheap too.

Get a used mid 90s Impala SS if you can find one in good condition, or a Civic, Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis.

I'm all about used Nissan's for value/performance.

Used Maximas for a bit of get up and go.
Used Altimas for a bit more of a bargin with a more miserly 4 banger.

Roomy. Comfortable. Reliable. Safe. Good used values.

Without knowing your budget it would be impossible to recommend a car. Not to mention your driving history which will greatly effect your insurance cost.
