What optional items would be first on the list to add to it? I mainly game on the pc so this will be a difference for me. Is the one included controller enough? It will be just myself and the gf playing mostly. Games are up in the air right now, I'll probably decide what to buy later...

I dont know, if i'm right, but don't you have to have a memory stick to save your game score ??

Get a second controller combo, at a minimum.

If you're going to be playing with your girlfriend, I'd recommend getting the nunchuck (only the controller is included in the core purchase)for you and a controller and nunchuck for her.

Memory card, if you're planning to buy content off the Nintendo store. Classic controller, same reason. If you plan to play any Gamecube games, I'd look into buying 1 or 2 used memory cards and a Wavebird.

Only if he buys a ton of stuff off the Nintendo Store. I had 15 games and all the apps and still haven't filled up the internal memory.

Unless the included components have changed since the system launch, this is inaccurate. The base system includes both a remote and nunchuck in addition to the original Wii Sports.

You may also want to consider getting a Classic controller if you plan to play many Virtual Console games. I think some require it.

As for games, there's always New Super Mario Bros Wii. It's a fantastic game with old school side scrolling Mario gameplay. It can be played by up to 4 players at once, though it should be noted that the difficulty increases greatly with more people playing... still a lot of fun though.
