Hi,
I'm looking into the market for a server machine. It will serve 4 dual core computers with 1Gb RAM running WinXPPro and Office2k3Basic and some other specific software to the business.
So far I've seen this info (very vague) about the following hardware/software topics:
Hardware: I've seen some Xeon 3000 series processor, this would be a low entry level processor for server. What does it have more that would justify going for a Xeon instead of a regular Duo-core?
Software: Current used software in the business will run a server side service, which can only run in windows. Nowadays it runs on a Windows 2k Server, so I was planning on building a Windows 2003 SBS Standard. Does it have all the features, like Domains, DHCP, DNS, AD, ... found on the Windows 2k Server? Would it be a good choice?
