looking to buy a new video camera, any recommendations?

well, i want to buy a regular video camera, preferably small and it has to have that screen where you can see what you are recording, anyone have any recommendations? or has anyone bought one recently and will highly recommend it.


i am looking to spend around $600 maybe less.

Digital. I got a digital JVC camcorder a while back for cheap. (it was a display item) It's just about the least advanced digital camcorder on the market, but the image quality SPANKS every analog I've ever seen.

can this digital cam also record to a vhs tape?




i know what a digital camera is, but im not too sure on digital camcorders, and how they work.

explain what exactly is digital? is it what they call "dv" on the cameras? ive seen nice sony cameras "dv" modem. and then ive seen the hi8 or something like that model. when i buy a camera, i plan on buying a dv sony. costs around 1 grand and up. i dunno, when i buy things, i buy the best. i learned my lesson one too many times buying the most cheapest crap.
