I'm looking to get a decent Mini DV cc so I can start putsin with editing tools on my computer. I plan on taking it cross country to document that, and use it in school for various things. Im on a semi-tight budget, and the cheaper the better. Basically I want to know whats the cheapest cc with decent quality and features. I like the Optura 20, but Im thinking it's a little too $$. Thanks for any help

The one that may have the least amount of post-color correction might be the Panasonic PV-GS120 ($650 3CCD miniDV!). There are some review sites if you have not seen them. Try dvspot or camcorderinfo.

I have a Canon ZR70 and love it. I just got back from Scotland and had it there. I took video of the roads we were on (scary) and lots of city life and anything else that was interesting. The videos turned out great even in low light conditions. I personally like all Canon optical products, my friend just bought the ZR85 and he loves his as well. You can find them at JandR.com cheaper than most places. Good luck!
