My eyes are going crazy from spending 18 hours a day in front of my computer reading text from homework and stuff. I like to play games, and realize LCD screens aren't the best for things like that, but would like one that can run games fairly decently. I have a DVI output on my geforce4 ti4200.

I've been looking at the Samsung 172T, Formac 1740DVI mostly.

Any advice would be appreciated!

hi,
i was also waiting for the samsung 172t. actually, i had one ordered from mwave since mid august but they slipped the delivery date until the end of september / early october and i couldnt wait that long. ended up cancelling at mwave and getting the samsung 171p which has the same specs, fancy porsche styling and was actually cheaper at ecost.com when i bought it, though things have changed lately.
i'm very happy with the 171p, it's great, especially through the dvi input. much better than the viewsonic 181 that it replaced. i'd highly reccomend the 171p if you can get it for the same price, or, if like me, you cant wait. if you dont mind waiting, i'm sure that the 172t is also going to be good. but noone that i know has actually seen one.
good luck.

I'd LOVE an LCD screen, but it's far too expensive for me at the moment.. since I'm a student and that. I guess I'll have to make do with CRT for now. Guess that wasn't helpful, but I couldn't contain myself.

Thanks for the input, foofoo :)

Neilm, I hear ya! As a student it's tough for me to afford a nice LCD display, but I figure.. you can't put a pricetag on your eyesight. So I'm willing to spend to save it :)
