Looking to Build a New PC

Greets.

If all goes well I'll be building a new gaming system within six to eight months. I'm anxiously awaiting the release of Windows 7 (Have an RC on my laptop. <3 it.) and dropping prices for SSDs. This being said, I'm just brainstorming at the moment since I don't have the cash on hand to build anything just yet. I went on over to iBUYPOWER to customize a rig and get some general pricing ideas, and this is what I came up with:

iBUYPOWER Rig

The displayed price is actually somewhat beyond what I would consider the comfortable upper limit of my budget but like I said, prices should hopefully drop, and the second Radeon GPU I have listed in there could wait until later, shaving a good $400 off the price (which is, again, going to drop).

I wanted to brainstorm a bit and see what you guys thought of buying a PC through a service like this. I hear that generally they're more expensive than buying it all piece-by-piece yourself, which I am willing to do. What are the thoughts on SSDs and how they perform / their reliability right now? Corsair's Dominator DDR3 memory has been getting some good reviews but it's still somewhat pricey stuff. I read about Intel's Lynnfield line coming out soon, but if I go that route I can't potentially upgrade directly to the six-core CPUs due to socket type, though Lynnfield is said to match the performance of i7 on the low end while still being cheaper. Who else here has experience with Windows 7, and what are your thoughts for a gamer (Again, I like W7 a lot - to the point that I'm thinking about upgrading this rig to W7 or using an RC).

Input appreciated.

Edit: Was also wondering about 32-bit vs. 64-bit these days. I've still not come across a clear consensus on this and I've been wondering since the days of WinXP64

* Read threads on new components and builds.
* Post another (refined), thread in five to seven months.
* 64-bit Windows 7 all the way!

Yeah, the thread is a touch premature and unrefined. :>

Having done a quick search, though, wanting to run 6GB of memory a 64-bit system would be a requirement, wouldn't it?

64-bit OS have come a long way since XP64 - full commercial releases with full support (unlike poor XP64). So what arguments do you have against there being a 64-bit concensus? Um, legacy hardware drivers... um, anything else?

Is there a consensus?

What I typically come across is "weeeellll, if you're doing X or Y, go for 32 bit... if you're into A or B, go for 64 bit!"
