ive been researching computer hardware on newegg, hopefully for a future build. Ill start off with what i'm looking for first off like any one else picture quality and performance is a must so HD compatible hardware. I would also like to stay around the $2100 mark. I am into editing videos and playing games.

Monitor- not sure which ones are out there, at least 22in widescreen HD compatible

Processor- 2.3 to 2.6 core 2 duo (again most bang for your buck)

Video card- ive been looking at this closely cant determine if I should get 2, high end 7 series (2 geforce 7950gt sli) or 1, 8 series (geforce 8800). The only thing I really have a question on is the difference between direct x 9 and 10. is it worth it? and will the sli version make up for the lack of direct x 10

Hard drive- 7200 rpm or 10k not really concerned on the space (I feel that I wont be making any 2 hour movies so the space isn?t necessary plus the more space the more junk ive been collecting)

Motherboard- I am completely lost with this I have no idea which ones are good and are compatible.

Case- again good air flow is necessary but every time I look at reviews there are always people saying its good and others saying it sucks. Air flow depends on what u have in it? right?

power- not really sure on this either.

Memory- at least 2gigs I hear anymore and it?s a waste if u don?t have a 64bit processor.

Sound card- 24-bit 192KHz PCI Interface Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Professional

Already have a DVD burner here but maybe much later will upgrade to a blu-ray drive

OS- most likely going to be vista ultimate

tv card- any that can take a hd signal

Keyboard and mouse- looking away from wireless because of the batteries.

Again any suggestions would be helpful especially on the motherboard and video card.

I have done the pricing on new egg and it seems to always come up to just over 2 grand so im not looking on anyone to do my shopping. Just suggestions.

Thank You

Look at my setup - great gaming rig.

You can probably go with the 640MB 8800GTS though - back in December 2006 the drivers were just too buggy to take a risk.
