I was thinking of using one of the attached adapters to connect a small WiFi and Bluetooth adapter. Has anyone tried this before? Did it work out okay?

I guess the alternative would be to get an external USB card, but I would prefer them to be inside the case.

So you want to install a USB Wi-Fi card inside your desktop case? I don't fully get your question.

You can just buy a PCI Express WiFi card. They generally perform better because higher end models are available.

I bought a Intel Desktop Centrino Advanced N-6205 when it came out nearly 7 years ago. I still use it, because it performs very good. 10MB/s download out of a 144Mbit connection downstairs from the router and opposite the 2500 sq.ft. house.

The USB 3.0 header adapter will work but your USB WiFi & bluetooth adapters' signal strength is greatly reduced if it's inside a case.

Even signal strength of external USB adapters that are behind a case could be greatly affected.

Seriously, save your money, get a Comfast USB2.0 AC600 + BT adapter for less than $10 off of ebay.

And what would be the point of sticking your wifi and BT adapters, INSIDE a Faraday Cage? (Your PC chassis.) It makes no sense. Even OEM cases with built-in mini-PCI / M.2 wifi, run antennas down the length of the plastic fascia, or have antennas out the back of the case.

Thanks for the replies. I think I can do without. I'd rather not have antennas sticking out of the case.

Get an All in One computer, almost all of them have the Antenna inside under the plastic frame like a Laptop.

Have you considered an Asus PCE-AC55BT B1 ? It's got an exterior antenna, but it's small and pretty nondescript. Intel wifi and bluetooth chipset. Has worked well for my wifi needs and Xbox One controller.
