Pretty much like the title says. I've googled and checked articles on anandtech but couldn't find anything beyond a comparison of one or two types. I was looking at getting the MSI 8800GTS g92 (kind of because it's the cheapest...)

But an article I read very briefly stated that the MSI version is known to run hot and is just a reference card... hmmm. Not a deal breaker, but I'd like to know if you guys have any other recommendations. Thanks.

In general you should go for whatever is cheapest. Warranty is pretty much the only thing that separates cards from different vendors (other than clocks, some models are pre-overclocked). eVGA has the step-up program and sometimes it is useful, but usually only when you overpay for your card.

That's the best deal out there right now, $155 after shipping and a lifetime warranty.

FYI, BFG also has a step-up program.

Generally speaking you can choose the cheapest card or the cheapest one with a lifetime warranty, or the card with the game bundle you want. Regarding that Zotac card, I'm not sure if anyone has verified that the lifetime warranty is valid for USA customers as Zotac doesn't have a presence here. Not 100% certain, maybe someone has more info.

If you go to Zotac's site and choose US (English) as your region, then go to the Warranty Manager, you'll see:
Dear valued customer,

the Warranty Registration is not available for your region in the moment.
