Looking into getting a new cpu, Thunderbird 1.33Ghz 133bus.

What kind of heatsink/fan should i get for this? Its OEM so it doesnt come w/ the retal fan. I will probably try o/cing it aswell.

Thank you

How much do you want to spend?

If $80 isn't too much & you don't care about noise, I'd look into the Swiftech MC462. Expensive, but appears to be quite the cooler. I'm curious how it would perform without that fan, does it's performance come from the HS, or the fan?

If I could match that heatsink with a quiet 80mm fan, I think that'd be ideal.

Volcano II from a company that had other winners b4 that were a ballance between silence and cooling and cost.

Cost isnt really my concern, to an extent it is but for extremely good cooling im willing to pay a lot. As long as it isnt watercooling for some kryotech thing. Just heatsink and fan config. Noise also isnt a concern either. Just how good it cools is what im looking for :)

So which is better, teh cube thingy or the other one on post #2?

We dont know much about the Core one... but the swiftech is an awsome cooler. If you dont care about noise or cost then the swiftech is the way to go! I believe www.plycon.com should get them in on friday.
