Looking into Antec SX840, what kind of PSU is in it ? How quiet is it compared to Enermax Wisper ?

I was curious to what kind of power supply do they use in that case ? I know it is a 400 Watts .. not bad !! is it noisy or quiet compared to Eenermax wisper ? and can I get the case w/out power supply ? or can I possibly sell the PSU on the board ... is there a market for it ??

Antec makes some of the quietest PS out there, I'm sure the Enermax is still quieter, but I'll be content w/ my Antec 300W PS

I have the SX840 and the power supply is really quiet. I'm sure they make them quieter, but I don't think you'd notice the difference. You can get the case with no power supply, or with a different power supply, from http://www.directron.com/sx830.html

That case will probably have the Antec PSU, with thermal control fan. I have an Antec300w and an enermax330w, both are extremely quiet. I really can't say which is quieter.

If the stuff you list is what you'll be using, you really won't have any trouble with a an antec 300w supply. Directron's psu upgrades aren't a very good deal- If you really want an Enermax, just buy the sx830 and an enermax as well. keep the stock unit as a spare, or sell it off. Check it out, you'll see what I mean.

I disagree. I bought a SX1030 and the 303x power supply died 2 weeks later. I sent it back to Antec, where they promptly lost it, my name, and my RMA number, and won't do anything about it after 15+ emails, over 10 calls, and alot of trouble. I would never deal with Antec again.

I too have been looking at getting the Antec SX840 for a T-bird system I plan on building. Anyone have any major problems with it? I see that the 400w PS is on the AMD approved list, any comments?
