I don't play UT3, and while I think its cool you're doing this... that looks like one of the worst, most irritating and unimaginate maps I've ever seen.

Keep up the work though, and don't pay attention to assholes like me.

Have you even played it :!

That map screenshot only shows 5% of what it is :! err... i knew i should have not posted a screenshot , they never can represent the gameplay intensity of the map.

I have been creating maps and mini mods for 8 years + since HL 1 release. Creating a high Detail map is waste of time i have found... no body cares about how detail your map is but how fun it is. Play it otherwise don't make comment like that.

I make simple and fun map... i ain't spending 20hrs on detail aspect :!

Probably have better luck advertising it at UT3 discussion forums. Try the Beyond Unreal community. Note that since UT3 turned out to be an Epic failure, there really aren't too many UT3 discussion forums around though and not much of a target audience for any UT3 custom map. (That's why a UT3 remake of one of my UT99 maps was left on the cutting room floor.)

I agree with the poster who said it looked pretty irritating. If this is your first ever UT map, you'll probably need to go back to the drawing board because the UT3 mapping is even tougher than it was in UT 2004 which was tougher than it was in UT99. One of the biggest problems is finding worthwhile textures, er, "materials" to use for textures on walls. I looked over every single one of the UT3 "materials" and concluded that I was going to have to import my favorite UT99 and UT 2004 textures and make custom "materials" out them. (Or do they call them "manufactures"? Been a while since I opened the UT3 Editor or the UT3 game itself for that matter.)

I have spent no hrs + mins of adding detail to map but instead spent the hrs of making a very a intensive gameplay factor map. The map is inspired by little bit of portal and neon night club that i meant to last week. It doesn't not any way represent the map gameplay but just to show you how it looks.

Now i can spend 20hr + making a awesome looking outdoor map as detail map like offical map but it doesn't mean it would be great map.

Sure, post the video.

I haven't downloaded it nor played it because I haven't had any interest in UT3 for months. It's an Epic failure and a dead game; it was a stillborn actually.

What I wonder about is whether they'll be another UT and whether Epic even has any desire to make a real sequel to UT99 and UT 2004 or whether they just want to make icky console games and then port them over to the PC.

I just bought UT3 a week(ish) ago and I agree about the failure. I'm not sure what Epic was thinking when they put this together. It just seems like UT2k3 all over again with all the elimination of Gametypes(where's Assault? Onslaught is better than War, etc). Sure Assault is not played much Online, but it still is great to play in Offline mode and people have always loved that gametype.

The graphics are very nice, but I find the Art direction to be getting increasingly annoying.

I wish... :^/ A remake of UT2k3 would have been my dream game. As it is they managed to combine the worst aspects of every game in the series, then added some more F'ups to make sure no one was left satisfied. UT3 is a complete abortion, and if they make any further games that are anything like it, I'll be finished with Epic and UT.

It's just criticism. Maybe a bit callous, rude, obnoxious, self-absorbed, and inconsiderate, but she isn't breaking any rules :p

Tuteja's last map was pretty bland and simple in terms of design but it was surprisingly fun indeed, I'll give this one a try as well.

"Fun" is ok, but people want "Interesting" as well. If a "fun" layout is made, then making it interesting is the next step.

My theory--and this is just a theory--not saying it's true--is that Midway forced them to release the game by Christmas 2007 when it needed another 6 months worth of work.

The end result? UT3 is to UT 2004/UT99 as a Yugo is to a Lexus. Look at how polished and smooth UT 2004 is right now. Wouldn't you expect UT3 to be at least as polished as the final patched version of UT 2004 if not better? Instead they released a buggy beta.

If my theory about Midway's pushing the game out the door is wrong, then I don't know if it's an issue of incompetence or a lack of desire on Epic's part. I don't think that Epic's programmers are so stupid that they don't recognize crap when they see it, so in that case I would think that the problem was a lack of desire.

This map is actually VERY fun, the portal thing is just wild and it's a very groovy map lol, if you could implement the portal thing on a map with a more complex layout you could have a winner on your hands.

It may not be a professional-quality map but it's very fun and that's what counts, this one is also interesting with all the warping around and the groovy sights.

It's interesting how people's opinions can vary.
