Looking fro cpu upgrade advice.

Just looking fro advice on upgrade. I was given 2 computers and one im looking to upgrade for gaming. Im wondering whats the max i can go, which chipset is the best and if possible what is the best for the price, i dont wanna drop 400 on a chip or something.

Your best bet is likely to be the Athlon 64 X2 CPU. Your memory at DDR400 is going to be a bit of a limitation, but there is a 4800+ that still uses that memory. It puts out pretty decent performance. Not sure about possible overclocking, but typically micro boards don't do so well there. The memory is dual channel, so you need to be sure to install it split into dual channel configuration.

For sure you will have to install a dedicated video card suitable for gaming. Looks like there is a slot for it, but it could be costly depending on your expectations for gaming.
