I'm trying to find a way to start working out again without the use of weights. All I want to do is stretch, do a lot of push-ups, and do a lot of sit-ups( as well as running). Is this possible? Will I see improvements?

What's your goals? Your not going to get very muscular doing that routine. You could lose weight if done properly though.

If you want to gain muscle, your gonna have to use heavy weights. :) You could try a college gym, the one here is $1 a workout if you don't go to the university. I bought a decent free weight set for < $200 a few years ago.

On another note, prisoners use water/sand inside of objects for weightlifting purposes. :D

I think you will be able to develop the muscles you have a little more but if you really want to gain a lot of muscle mass you're going to have consume more protein and work with weights.

Arobic excercise is what most people seek for a healthy life style, but some might want to go with anaerobic exercise to increase strength. Pushup, crunch & weight are the common anaerobic exercise, but runing uphill, stairs, or sprint also can be anaerobic.

One of the best method to develope useful muscle is doing run with walk intervals, and supplement it with uphill & stair running at the end of excercise period.

Find a cheap local gym not a chain like 24 hour fitness, Bally's, etc.

I think because of your low weight you should have a low body fat % so if you do the right types of crunches for long enough you might be able to get defined abs probably not a six pack unless you have good genes. If you do enough push-ups with good technique you should be able to put on a little muscle.

Edit
Haha silly me Good jeans = Good genes its late :p

Good jeans?

One other problem is that you probably won't be able to eat enough to sustain the growth. Case in point: me.

You're not going to be able to do much without weights. My friend was in jail awaiting trial, and in the 8 months he was in holding, all he did were pushups and stuff... and he didn't gain much mass at all. But once he got sentenced and made it to the pen, where there were weights, he started to gain decently.
