We need your help keeping 4th place in DF.

Rechenkraft.net has started dumping some major folds. They're already up 8M on us for the day and are just 4M back, and outproducing us by more than 1M per hour!

If you can spare a machine or two, please lend a hand!

Every little bit helps!

Team Anandtech DF FAQ

Update: Well, it's official. They've just passed us and taken 4th. 🙁 Still, we put up a helluva fight and we won't let you pull away. We've passed you before, and we'll do it again!!

Just as long as you have them folding under Team Anandtech! 😉

(to those who don't know SGarbe is one of Rechenkraft.net's top producers, and has dumped some 12M folds over the last 24 hours).

I'm not currently racing in SETI so I'll donate a system or two, SETI is getting stomped right now, it'll be nice to help get an AT team to move forward in the ranks 🙂

If I can ever figure out how to get the darn thing running.

If you need any help whatsoever, just ask!

You might want to check out the team faq (linked in the first post).

Well I got it running, I just had to turn off SETI, I was hoping to split processor time between the two, any ideas?

Is 2 structures per second good?

Yup, 2 structures per sec is pretty decent. I'm assuming your using the AMD Athlon XP 1700+ 1467MHz @ 1743MHz listed at your rig, and are using the "use extra mem" option, right?

well, I have it tuned downed to 1666Mhz right now, it doesn't run BF1942 with the fsb out of specs, it crashes back to the desktop repeatedly. It runs stable at 1743 with everything else, so If I'm not playing many vid games I bump it up a bit.

SETI and DF will not play together. SETI will consume all of the CPU time and leave DF with very little.

that's what the e-mail asigned me.

That's cool, now you need to go to Distributedfolding.org and click on 'High Flyers' and then login with the information you got in the e-mail.
next, go to the 'current team' drop down menu and select Team Anandtech. (use the drop down menu to select us, don't just try to type it in)

That will get you hooked up with us.

you can adjust the priority level of DF, check the readme or use dfGUI

also, as i noted in the daily thread, the new protein is extremely slooooow and uses massive RAM
you will need at least 256MB of RAM to use the extra RAM option on most OS's/PC's that aren't exclusive DF boxen
my 128MB dedicated boxes are going to grind to a trickle on this one 🙁

Ok, that's your handle. That's what you type in the handle.txt file.

As Sid explaind; go to the site, and log-in using your handle (or e-mail address) at High Flyers.

Then choose Team Anandtech and set your User Name (that's the name that will show up on the stats pages), and then I can start congratulating you on milestones! 🙂
