I'm looking for a small, wireless camera that will send images to my PC. I'd like to beable to record the iamges locally and/or watch the "stream" (updated every X secs) remotely.

would have to be wireless as it will be going outside and therefore weather proof too. Was thumbing through x10 stuff, but that all seems to boradcast to TV unless I'm missing something?

My Grandpa has been asking for something like this too, I think I'm gonna get him this one from Fry's.

Airlink AIC250W

The image quality looks very good, but I think you might need to buy a little protection for it if you're going to leave it outside. Also it needs to be pluged into an outlet. Other then that I've heard some pretty good reviews about it, just search around the net if you're interested.

I wasn't even thinking of something that is on the network.
Was more thinking of something that just transfit signal wireless to receiver on USB. Like x10. After looking more x10 makes a PC adapter for like $100 (on top of the $100 for the camera)

I actually just want this for some time-lapse photogrpahy for construciton on my house. Maybe Ill just toss a old laptop with win2k and a simple USB webcam I have laying around to do the job.

By chance do you have a VIVO video card?

Reason I ask is because I currently run a simple x10 setup to keep an eye on my front yard and vehicle. Its wireless, plugs right into my VIVO card and CapTV or VirtualDub handles the recording. No USB adapter necessary for the PC:)

If you have a VIVO card, you are good to go. Just buy the simple X10 package, one camera, and the receiver.

Works for me using CapTV and/or VirtualDub. VIVO drivers from your card manufacturer will also need to be installed of course.

Looks like X10 has a setup like you need for $79.99. Camera, and receiver.

If you have any questions, I will be glad to help and answer questions you may have.. Quite frankly, I am more than satisfied with the X10, its capabilties, and the quality. At my previous job, the boss had a very expensive setup with IP cams. While it was nice in a lot of aspects, the X10 setup I have at home is more than adequate for simple monitoring and/or recording.

Wireless video just got a lot easier with the XCam2, a video camera that can transmit LIVE COLOR video up to 100 feet The XCam2 integrates a COLOR analog video camera and 2.4 GHz transmitter into a single device that can be installed and operated by anyone. You can even add multiple cameras and scan between them like changing channels on your TV!

Also, I have had zero issues with range or interference, even though I have a jumble of wireless gadgets placed throughout my house.
