Looking for Web Page making software

I really don't feel like opening up Notepad and typing HTML code all day long so I'm looking for Web Page making software. I'm wondering what ya'll use or if you know of something that is really popular and easy to use, preferably something I can buy at a store as I really don't like software that I don't have a hard copy for. Thanks.

Netscape 4.79 and its descendant, Seamonkey, both have good web page editors built in. "Composer", i think it's called.

Mozilla took over Netscape 4.79, i guess it split off from the rest of Netscape in terms of software lineage. they keep it pretty updated, and it is very similar under the hood to Mozilla Firefox. e.g. if i update a Flash plug-in for Firefox, it will carry over to Seamonkey.

the editor works good. has a typical tabbed page thing so you can go into the HTML and tweak to add scripts, etc.

if you are interested in XML editing, Adobe Flex Builder (something like that) does a good job. pretty amazing what you can do with XML.

If I had a deep desire to make truly own web pages I would look in to WYSIWYG Web Builder http://www.wysiwygwebbuilder.com/

Output you get is 10 times faster and better than anything you will manage to get from Dreamweaver - without much effort at least. You don't want overkill. This is a shortcut on level with using a good editor like Notepad++ or Pspad vs. Notepad!

Besides that there is no way I would spend time on such manual payware tool when there are so many good blogging- and cms-scripts available. I know one who is beta-testing a beast of a product that will make Wordpress developers/marketers pay up big time 🙂 All depend on what you want. Trial Web Builder and see for your self. You can be clueless and still produce is my point! Dreamweaver is only if you really want and have the ability/time to learn - and then KompoZer is probably more releavant to start with http://kompozer.net/ Learn a bit of html and css. An improvement on the editor wwswimming mentioned.

If interested in Web Builder check their forum first, don't just buy it. Trial and test. Check upgrade policy as well. Very powerful tool though some will puke 😉 Like not "real" html/css. Of course it is but you have not worked for it, or learned that much. If you get that then start by learning those languages.
