I used Studio 7 a few years ago and it was ok. Now I want to do DVD's and I've read too many horrible things about Studio 9. So, I'm looking at Cyberlink's Power Director 3 or Ulead's VideoStudio 8. Anyone used these? Maybe something different all together?

I have Ulead Video Studio 6 for over 2 years now and like it a lot. It burns VCD/SVCD/MiniDVD/DVD although the menus are fairly basic. I read somewhere a review of several pc video-editing apps (for beginners). I think Power Director 3 was rated slightly ahead of Ulead Video Studio 7 and Pinnacle Studio 8. I also have Pinnacle Studio 8. It took a lot of patches to make it work right. But, the latest patch seems to have fixed things. I use it primarily because of the motion menus and thumbnails.....
