Looking for video card advice

I am putting together an Epox EP-8KTA3 MB w/ a Duron 800 and have a Mitsubishi 21" Diamond Pro monitor. I use the computer for business apps, but my kids use it for games. I want to U/G my ATI Xpert98 :frown🙁AGP ) and ATI-TV (ISA 😱 ) cards to a one-slot AGP solution. I want to keep the TV-Tuner function and have looked at the new AIW Radeon. It has many great features ( 😕 if I need all of them?) , including a VCR feature. I don't want to get a lesser card and be unhappy a month or two down the road. Any advice on anything else out there that has good graphics and a TV tuner in one card?
 
If you want something with all the extra features, plus good speed, it's AIW Radeon all the way.

um han888... actually A LOT of people use ATi's
Anyways stick with a AIW radeon they are good for what you need... And the digital vcr isnt all that great considering you will need a pretty big hard drive to actually record good quality videos... Thats all
 
If you're gonna use Win 2K then stay away from the Radeon 'cuz their driver support is horrid for that platform.

The newest 2K drivers are very fast and stable. They're quite good now and a priority for ATI. You can't go wrong with either card though. See if you can compare the GTS and Radeon side by side. 😉
 
Han, I think there are more people here recomending Radeon's than GTS's these days.

i never have ati card, so i can not make any comment, the card i have gts and voodoo5, and i am more like my voodoo5 over gts for the image quality, but for the fps of course the gts.

because just search in the forum, if some one ask about advise the video card, the answer just 3!! ati, voodoo or gts!

gts user said ati card driver sucks on win2k!
ati user said gts sucks on 2D quality, and then gts user said nooooo, choose the visiontek, elsa, bla bla bla
and then the flame start 😛 ( and the winner always gts user because majority herre use the gts card
and again ati user said nvidia card driver unstable, bla..bla...bla, and gts user said nooooo.. i am currently use 6.31 , bla bla bla some people said they use 6.18 or 6.49 and run stable, some people said nooo 6.50 more stable. and then the flame start again 🙂




 
Does anyone has commment on Marvel eG450 TV?
I go for ATI AIW Radeon as DVD playback is not good in matrox due to absence of hardware DVD decoding ability.
Moreover I need DVI output.
