Looking for VIA Dual BIOS chip

I recently purchased a Gigabyte GA-6VXDC7 motherboard that supports dual BIOS. I have had no luck in getting a response from Gigabyte as to the validity of the feature on this motherboard or where to get the 2nd of the pair. I've seen pictures of other motherboard models from Gigabyte that support dual BIOS and there is a label on the 2nd BIOS that says "Gigabyte Dual BIOS).

Does anyone know if this is a duplicate of the main BIOS or a hybrid chip and secondly, where would I get one of these chips? Again, I've had no luck getting a response from Gigabyte and my local suppliers have no idea.

Since the socket is present, you'll only need the match the existing BIOS flash. It uses a 2Mbit, probably a Winbond. (This seems to be Gigabyte's main supplier.) Catch is, this is an Apollo Pro board. It doesn't support @BIOS, and Gigabyte has NO Apollo Pro boards that support DualBIOS, only two Pro266A's that I was able to find on their website. So it looks like they used another chipset's PCB design and swapped around some leads to use the Apollo Pro, and even adding the second BIOS won't do any good. The DualBIOS is dependant on microcode in the original/lead BIOS, and I doubt that there's any way to add that to your existing BIOS. Sorry. 🙁

100th post, woo!
