I'm looking for one of those light that you plug into your USB port in your notebook/laptop. i'm seeking feedbacks and recommendations.

Two things I'm looking for:

1.) Good descent lighting
2.) Doesn't heat up when you touch it

Anybody has the following?

Belkin TraveLite Retractable USB Lamp

Compaq USB Light

IOGear Flex Light
(I like the look of it - reviews?)

Kensington FlyLight
Kensington FlyLight with Red -- Why red?

Micro-Innovations USB Light

Targus USB Retractable Light
Targus USB Light
Targus USB Light with Bonus Fan

Post any other brand/link if you know any.

Thanks in advance.

I don't have any of those personally(my T42 has an integrated light); but I've some general experience with such things. First: I shall be assuming that you want something to light your keyboard, or maybe a notepad next to it, not something to blind a perp at 60 meters. Before anything else: you simply must have an LED bassed light. There may still be an incadescent or two floating around in the really low end of the market. You do not want one. They suck. That said: The IOgear light looks terribly excessive. Unless the LEDs terribly, terribly suck 8 is way more than you need. Assuming you have even decent night vision the light of a single decent LED(plus any spill from your screen) will be enough. My personal preference would be to go with a gooseneck model, rather than one of the clip lights. I have a gooseneck webcam, and it is suprisingly useful to be able to manipulate it freely in space, and have it stay where I put it, not merely perched on top of my screen.
The cheapie generic is probably fine; but if you want to minimize risks you probably can't go too far wrong with any of the brand name gooseneck lights(so buy one that looks good with your laptop, no point in letting 20 dollars worth of accessory make 1000-3000 dollars worth of laptop look goofy..
