I have a 5 year old Sony 40 inch flat screen that I want to add an external speaker. I have been looking in the 400 to 500 range and am lost with all the choices. There is not a lot of room in the cabinet. Locally there are lots of soundbar choices but I am not sure if laying it in front of the TV remote area will be a problem. My wife likes to play the music stations from comcast so I would like to improve the sound quality.
I have comcast and any product that does not work with the remote is no good, my wife will kill me if there is another remote to use. From there I am extremely flexible.
The boxes the TV sits on are interesting but they would put the TV right up to the top of the cabinet and the TV puts out a bit of heat so that concerns me. If you have any suggestions to point me in the right direction I would appreciate it .
