Hey everyone, need some 'help' here, need some suggestions on what to watch next.

little background info first so you know where im coming from,

I love watching TV series on DVD so im looking for suggestions on what to watch next, but they have to be released on DVD (i don't have the discipline to watch one episode on TV this week then wait for the next one the week after... im more of a "this weekend im doing nothing but watching Season X of this show and go through 6+ episodes a day" )

and preferrably shows that are already finished (no longer on the air AND storyline finished). For example i liked the sci-fi show '4400' a lot, but hated how they canned it after 4 seasons and did not bother to wrap things up.

The shows that I have already seen so far (i dont watch anything on TV so shows that i do not list here are ones that i have not even seen an episode of).

Already seen & own:

-4400
-Rome
-The Sopranos
-Band of Brothers
-Smallville (never saw an episode until this year when i got the first 8 seasons as a birthday present and watched them within 2 months, waiting on the release of S9 on DVD).
-Lost
-Prison Break
-Sarah Connor chronicles (hated how they cancelled it after 2 seasons)
-House (im not a fan of shows that have a sidestory as the center piece of each episode and leave the progress of the main storyline as a side-effect of what happens on each show, (ie. 'different patient dying every episode', 'different crime to solve on CSI every episode' etc...) but HOUSE is surprisingly good and i love him in a non-gay kind of way).

The following shows i have never seen , but i think i've heard good things about them, i could use some input on

- X Files
- Redwood (or is it deadwood? , one about undercover aliens i think)
- Taken
- Babylon 5
- Battlestar Galactica (saw the movie & original series only)

Any other shows that you want to recommend and why do you recommend it , please do so, these are only the ones i remember from the top of my head that i have heard good things about.

Also, please do me a favor and keep this thread spoiler free. :)

Thanks in advance

Breaking Bad, not sure if Season 2 (most epic season ever for any show there is) is on DVD yet but Season 1 is, at the very least see that, directed by the X-Files guy and doesn't have any kind of House-like sidestorys.

I recommend it because the writing is great, the story and characters are excellent, and as far as basic cable TV shows go it's very dark and risque.

Archer (cartoon) and Modern Family are great new comedies but not on DVD yet.

The Wire (great realistic gritty show, some people hate season 2, i liked it)
Dexter (can't believe i waited till season 4 was over to start watching this show - amazing show)
The Shield (my favorite show ever)
Weeds (took me a few eps to get into but i liked it, although it kinda changes directions)
Rescue Me (great comedy/drama about nyc fire fighters)
Sons of Anarchy (my new favorite hsow, although only 2 seasons have aired, s3 starts next month)
LOST (probably THE best network television show ever)

Firefly + Serenity

Just finished them, as I just said in antoher thread, one of the best TV shows. And you can go through them very quickly.

Like you I cant stand getting into a show and then having them not finish the story line(4400), with Firefly + Serenity they tie the story line up nicely. It was refreshing to see it after having so many shows I like get killed because of the writters strike.
