Looking for the Epox4PCA3+. Anybody see or have one?

The Epox 4PCA3+ fared pretty well in the Anandtech roundup. Vr-zone also did a review of it, and seemed to really like it. I wasn't really interested in this board until I noticed the latest bios allows the CPU vcore up to 1.85. Previously it was limited to 1.6, which is just too low for my tastes.

Just to refresh everyone's memory, it has the Highpoint HPT374, which supports up to 8 devices; ICH5R for SATA IDE; VDIMM up to 3.3 volts; and a nice big passive heatsink on the northbridge.

Anyway, I thought I would see how much this board costs, only to find that I couldn't find one for sale.

Has anybody found one of these boards for sale anywhere? Does anybody have one of these boards? I would really like to hear what you think of it.

After some searching, I found one! AxionTech (http://www.axiontech.com/prdt.php?item=45390) has them listed for $166.95 and they seem to be in stock. That is a good price for an 875P board with Gigabit LAN and the ICH5R, along with all its other features. I wish they had gone with a black PCB like they did on the 4G4A+. That board looked really sweet in my case (clear side panel.) I guess right now I am stuck between this board and the Abit IC7. The IC7 is a little cheaper, but doesn't have LAN of any kind, and there is no PATA RAID controller. For only $30 more than an IC7 (Newegg's price) seems like you get more for your money with the Epox.

HardOCP just put up a review of this board, and they loved it. It outperformed the Asus P4C800 and the Abit IS7 with PAT, and overclocks very will. They got it to 275 FSB with the passive northbridge, and to 290 by adding a fan. This really looks to me to be a hot motherboard that hasn't gotten much publicity, which is a shame. If vendors like Newegg carried it, I have little doubt this board would be pretty popular.

EPoX is having "difficulties" getting their newest products into the US market lately. Try finding an EPoX 8RDA+ Rev. 2.0 anywhere. Guys in Asia and the Middle East have them already but no one in the USA has them for sale. :|

EPoX is just giving their market share to Abit by ignoring the US market this way. Their loss.

We initially started working on this review using the ABIT IC7-G motherboard, but after 10+ hours of benchmarking we found that ABIT had a BIOS issue with the IS7/IC7 series when running memory over 255FSB so we tossed all of our results along with the IC7-G and used the EPOX 4PCA3+ i875P motherboard that has a Vdimm that goes to 3.3V!!! We were simply amazed that we could reach 532MHz at aggressive 2.5-5-4-3 timings and 3.0V!

While the memory is impressive to say the least, I am impressed with a board that can actually make the Abit IC7 look mediocre. I did some figureing, and if you put a 2.6C on this board, you could hit 3.45 GHz, if the chip was willing, and still be using the 1:1 memory ratio! And even though you would have to run some relatively relaxed timings, as the article says bandwidth is king, and it really looks like this is the board to get you into the throne room.
