Does anyone know of any good websites/articles (that go into a decent level of detail, but not overly complex) that explain how operating systems work? I have read several intro. articles (such as the howstuffworks one) but am looking for more. Any help would be appreciated.
 
Do a search for "Minux"
It's a open source stripped down demonstration Unix OS for learning how to program one or what one does behind the scenes.
It started Linus Torvolds on Linux because it was a little too stripped down! (And yes, it has updated since then and is fairly recent).
