It's been a while since I've posted here but was hoping for some advice...

I'm currently running:
Windows Vista 64
i7-3770k @ 3.50GHZ
16gb RAM (G.skill Ripjaws X Series 16gb (4 X 4gb) 240-pin Ddr3 Sdram Ddr3 1600)

This was updated about a year ago and I'm happy with overall PC performance.

What I'm unhappy with is my performance in video games (ex. Bioshock Infinite)

While it plays *OK* it slags and is far from optimal.

My Video card is a few years old and IMHO, what is giving me the trouble: 1 x EVGA 896-P3-1257-AR GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 Superclocked Edition 896MB 448-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP

Based off of my current system, do you have a video card for $500 or less that you would recommend?

OR

Do you recommend something else for my setup?

I will happily provide any and all information that you need. I just want some advice..
Thanks!!

I'm a fan of Gigabyte's video cards. They usually have decent cooling, and they have a 3-year warranty that goes by serial number, so you can sell your card, and the purchaser can still have warranty (unless that's changed since the GTX460 days).

What power supply do you have? That makes a difference in what GPU we'd recommend or if we'd recommend a GPU/PSU upgrade.

My Power Supply is a Corsair Pro Series Gold 750W PSU [CMPSU-750AX]

Does that change the recommendations? Thx!

Thanks to everyone who replied and helped me out!

After a bit more research based off your suggestions and further review of my own setup I just purchased:

GIGABYTE GV-N770OC-2GD GeForce GTX 770 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP from NewEgg.

Thanks again!!

Gigabyte is the best! If you want to invest in a good card, go fir the 770 or 780. For a little less cash, a 650 Ti Boost or a 660 would do just fine.

Looks good to me. Your AX750 will handle it no problem. :)
