looking for suggestions on building a new rig

i will be getting about 1200 dollars to build a new desktop...and i already have a few parts

ocz powerstream 520
ocz ddr400 plat rev2 2x512
sb audigy zs2 gamer
xp90

now, the predicament is, is that i plan on building a new computer in about a year and a half when m2 come out....until then would a socket 754 sempron on the dfi nforce3 250 board w/ an x800xl or 6800gt be fine until i upgrade then?? or should i go 939 with either a venice or sandiego core??

which would be the better of the two for my situation??

dfi nforce3 250
sempron 2600 or 2800 (still debating....not sure if cache matters that much)
6800gt or x800xl (debating which one, i can get both for around 250)
19" lcd monitor (probably samsung 930b)

or

dfi ut lanparty nforce4
cheapest san diego or 3200 venice
x800xl then upgrade vid later (6800gt is too much, cant get it cheap from work, can get x800 for 250)
17" lcd monitor (samsung 730b)

i will be playing mostly wow, and cs 1.6, hl, and cs:s (when they make it a decent game)...other than that, i will be doing a tad bit of video encoding but mostly going on line and what not.....

I WILL BE OVERCLOCKING

agreed, second option. but to give yourself a bit more flexibilitly down the road, you might want to consider a SLI setup. I'm in the same boat, building new system right now, definitly going with 939 platform, but still haven't decided on sli or not. if you went sli, you could pick up 6600 right now, then add another 6600 when money came available. if you went sli, you could get the dfi sli board, use the sb card that comes with it, and put the money from the sb audigy toward the mb, or possibly a 6800. You might find performance level that would get you further into the next cycle, without sacrificing alot of performance right now.

DEFINATELy the 2nd one. If you got 754, wouldnt u want an Athlon 64 anyways instead of a Sempron? And wtf, why do you need an x800/6800GT for CS 1.6 or WoW?! I can run CS 1.6 just fine on my Radeon IGP 9000

i work at best buy and with my discount i can get them hella cheap...so thats why i wanted to go for those cards....i do play doom3, mohpa, and farcry a bit as well, but not nearly as much if at all.....

does anyone know how much the lowest sandiego will be??
