Looking for suggestions in the 32" range for my bedroom.

Well, I am in the market for a new TV for my bedroom and 32" seems to be the perfect match for the space that I have. The problem is I cannot decide which TV to get. Now I've looked at several of which(not in person yet.) that are in my price range ($700 USD max) but still I am not sure. The catch is the only place around me that sells a decent selection of TV's is Best Buy so, of course any suggestion made must be able to be purchased there.

What would be better for this size TV, 720p or 1080p given that I don't have any bluray content but I do have a PS3 with some PS3 games.

I'm no audiophile either, and most of the audio complaints in the mediore reviews the BB allows on their online sites complain about this, but honestly I have a cheap generic tube TV right now and if the audio sounds about the same maybe a little better I will be satisfied.

So, does anyone have any suggestions in this range?
32" for less than or equal to $700 after tax (about $660 before tax-- 6 percent sales tax---)

720p TV's I've glanced at...
Samsung LN32B460B2D***
LG 32LH20
Sharp LC-32SB27U

1080p TV's I've glanced at...
LG 32LH30-UA***
Samsung LN32B530P7F

Edit..
Dropped a bunch of lack-luster TV's I originally had...

*** = choices I think I'd prefer...

I can't find a tape measure atm to find out but it's about 10 to 12 feet away I think.

That is pretty far for the size :(

Fixed.

I know this will just be a bedroom TV, but I find my 50" from 9 feet away to be too small at times (most of the time it's perfect IMO). Most people don't want a 50" TV in their bedroom, and that would be out of your price range as well. I'd recommend going with a 42" Panasonic plasma that can often be found for $600 before tax.

BTW, a 42" TV is 72% larger than a 32" according to http://www.tvcalculator.com/.

I probly sit around 10 feet away. I just upgraded from a 42" to a 50". My SO thought it would be way to big, but I like it. However, the 42" was probably fine for me.

My SO thought a 50" from 11 feet away would be WAY too big. She originally wanted a 32". Once we got the 50" home and she watched some of her favorite shows on it, she really liked it. We moved to a new house 6 months after we bought the TV, and I made sure to arrange the livingroom so that the farthest seating is 9 feet away. It looks even bigger and better now!

Edit: This completely off the subject at hand, but I just installed my new ~$15 bias lighting that I pieced together at Lowes, and it makes a huge difference. I had a desk lamp behind the TV before, but I had no idea how much better flourescent lighting at >90 CRI would look. (If you don't have any clue what I'm talking about, then look at this avsforum thread.

My guesstimate last night was a little off it's about how far I will be sitting it's 9' 8".
Now according to that TV Calc, the minimum TV size I would need to not lose any image area would be 37"

Problem with that is 42" is actually cheaper...

Hmm....

IMO, by the biggest you can afford. You don't buy a tv too often, and you WILL want to upgrade. Save yourself the money/headaches by getting what you want the first time :)

32" is too small. i think people got stuck on the original sdtv crt size/distance recommendations which were based on minimizing how sh*tty things looked blown up back then, not how big you actually needed.

10-12 feet lol...any screen size you can afford is still probably too small. too big is perhaps imax feeling, and even if you got an 80" dlp you still wouldn't have to move your eyeballs around to take in the whole picture, never mind your head like you do at imax theaters. at that distance i bet you would be fine if your entire wall was the screen;)

For a theater sure. For a bedroom? Does this bedroom also have theater seating and 7.1 surround?

I agree that a bedroom set doesn't have to meet THX requirements...lol! However, it's still a good idea to keep in mind the uses for the TV and the viewing distance.

I personally don't like having a TV in the bedroom at all, but to each his own.

heh a tv doesn't have to be thx...
just sayin, the old viewing distance vs sizse recommendations werent based on much besides the awful quality of sdtv if blown up on a big screen. plus they couldn't make big screens practical for a long long time. but people got locked into that kind of thinking and its taking a while to accept the reality that screen size is comfortable even if very large and even average large size tv of today is hardly home theater experience.
