Looking for suggestions for a new PCI video card

I've got me a real hot Dell Dimension 3000, but it seems to have no AGP or PCI-E slots. I'm going to have to open this puppy up next chance I get and make abso-fruitly sure that it actually is slot-less, since this doesn't make any sense at all (somehow it made sense to the good peoples at Dell. . . )

So I'm hunting for a reasonably good PCI video card, and it looks like Newegg isn't carrying anything better than a Radeon 9250, PCI style. WoW runs pretty ok on my main rig that is packing a Radeon 9800, but it definitely could be better.

Does anyone know of anything good out there in the PCI graphics world that would be good for latest Dell-inflicted predicament?

Thanks fellas!

He has a dell. I don't think a new mobo is an option.

Didn't ATI just release a X1650 as PCI or something like that?

Until two weeks ago, the "best" for plain PCI was pretty poor for gaming. It previously was the Geforce 6200. Now, if you can locate someone selling it, the Radeon X1300 in plain PCI is the best there is for that interface. TTBOMK, ATI skipped over the X300 generation and kept on selling the 9200/9250 for that slot until now. The impending release was announced last May, but somehow required four months to reach just a few shelves here and there.

Instead of being "pretty poor" for it, the X1300 is merely "ordinarily poor" for game playing. It's still really just an office presentations card, for use with Powerpoint.

x1300 pci :! will have to do for you... it should be easy to play WOW on that but you will need a decent cpu P3 1.0Ghz + and 512MB of ram.

I looked it up (never had any interest in any "MMMMOOOORPG"), and

WoW World of Warcraft Requirements

The system requirements for World of Warcraft:

PC:

* Processor: 800MHz or higher CPU.

* RAM: 256Mb or more.

* Video: GeForce 2 or better

* Hard Drive Space: 3Gb or more available.

* DirectX 9.0 or above

It doesn't take much. Why bother to upgrade from a 9250 for this game? It seems to be saying that an MX 200 would work (though that contradicts the "Dx9", since it's only a Dx7 card). I'm currently sidelining a PC here with an XP 2000, 512 MBs of RAM, and a GF3 Ti-500 as being too obsolete for much of anything . .

lol, have you ever walked through Ironforge on a Saturday afternoon with a GF3?

When the s#&t really hits the fan and a lot is going on, it'll just about make my Radeon 9800 cry.

Yeah, GF3 is painful with WoW. My kids have to suffer with it on an Athlon XP 2400. 20-25 FPS avg except in Ironforge which is more like 4-5 FPS.

...need to upgrade it to a better video card.
