I'm looking to upgrade my current setup, I got a Abit NF7-S board to replace mine, I'm looking for suggestions a good Overcloking CPU for this new board and any other upgrades that may be needed for a decent all around rig.

MY current system specs:
MSI KT3 Ultra-ARU
2-Mushkin PC3200 256mb
AMD 1400 xp overclocked to 1686(real speed)
Gainward Ti 4200 128mb "Golden Sample"(overclocked to 4600 speeds)
Adaptec 2940 SCSI controller
2- Seagate 10,000RPM hd one 18gb one 9gb(SCSI)
Creative lab 5.1 Xgamer
Cd Rom and a CD burner(SCSI)

I have a great water cooling system for the CPU consisting of a chevett heater core, Eheim 1250 pump, Danger Den Maze 3 water block.

Thanks for any suggestions and help

if you want to play games like doom 3 and half-life 2 later on, you would need to upgrade your video card. as for the cpu, a good overclocking one would be the mobile athlon 2500+ or 2600+. you should be able to hit speeds of 2.5-2.7GHz on your h20 cooler. it would you play games far better if you could get an extra stick of 512 in there. otherwise, you should be fine.

agreed with mik3y...

just to throw this in cuz i love vmodding :)...

if you plan on running high fsb's on that nf7-s, you will a few mods as well as an L12 mod to that chip

but if you plan on running like 200 mhz fsb... then ignore me completely

also..

if you want to spend a little more money, the A64 2800+ would be another good option if you wanted to sell that nf7-s and get a socket 754 board instead...

good luck! You will probably enjoy it! And update us with your overclocking results! I hope you hit at least 2.5GHz :)
