My daughter's dorm room is such that even a mini-shelf system would be too big, so I have been looking for a micro one instead.
The thing is I have found some but the sticking point is primarily the CD laser quality and failure rates which for the less expensive units means a good chance for crapping out after 6 months. Also, so many are now packaged with iPod decks. She doesn't have an iPod and I can't see spending $ on something she won't use.
I am looking for a unit that will play CDs (to play only one CD at a time is fine) and provide AM/FM radio. I have looked on eBay but I am leery of anything that is used and has laser in the same breath.
I have searched locally and online, but I am our of my experience element here.
Any suggestions of makes and models? Thanks.
