Looking for SSD i3 Laptop

Hi all good intelligent people!

I need some help finding a laptop.

I want a laptop with a good SSD (~160B) and an i3 CPU.

There are plenty of nice i3 laptops at ~ 600 bucks. I don't care much about screen, and I would like it to NOT have a discrete GPU and use the i3 for video.

The Intel 160 GB G2 generation is about 400 bucks.

So I figured it should be easy to find SSD i3 laptop for about a 1000$.

But I've been searching and searching and can't find nothing for this price.

Is my only option buying the SSD separately and swapping it? If that is the case, can you recommend an i3 laptop that is easy to open and swap the hard drive? I've built about a dozen desktops, but never messed with a laptop.

All advice appreciated - thanks in advance.

Yeah, you're probably going to have to buy the laptop and SSD separately. SSD's are still considered a high-end option, so your not going to find one on a $1000 machine.

$600 is probably about the minimum for a Core i3. You're looking at Acers and such in that price range. This one seems decent, as long as you remember that it is a $600 machine.

As for the SSD, for $400 I'd be looking at the 240GB Sandforce drives like this Corsair Force. They are faster than the Intel and have more capacity to boot.

Most ~15" laptops make it very easy to get to the memory and HDD. It's generally only the really small ones that have to cram things into every nook and cranny.

thanks.

THis is actually not bad at all.

WHat about 1500?

WHat is the lowest price that I can get a i3 and an SSD?
