I normally don't listen to 70s-80s English music and don't know much about it (apart from Micheal Jackson's songs). My musical tastes lie mostly in reggae/hiphop/rap and old Hindi music and indian classical music (tabla solos and such).

Anyway I was listening to my friend's cd and heard this song Hotel California by the Eagles. I really liked the song.

I'm looking to know of other songs similar to Hotel California. I like the soothing vocals and background music. Very nice. I also listend to "Life in the Fast Lane" by the Eagles, which is also good.

Thanks.

How is this one?

On a dark farm roadway
Cold wind in my hair
Warm smell of cowpies
Rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance
I saw a tractor's headlights
My head grew heavy, and my sight grew dim
I had to stop for the night
There she stood in the barn door
I heard the cow bell
And I was thinking to myself
This could be Indiana or this could be Hell
Then she lit up a lantern
And she showed me the way
There were cows in the barn
I thought I heard them moo

Welcome to the Happy Cow Farm
Such a bovine place
Such a bovine place (background)
Such a bovine face
Plenty of room at the Happy Cow Farm
Any time of year
Any time of year (background)
You can find milk here
You can find milk here

Her mind is udderly twisted
She's got the big udders
She's got a lot of pretty, pretty bulls
That she calls friends
How they moo in the pasture
Sweet winter ice
Some moo to remember
Some moo to forget
So I called up the farmer
Please bring me my Farmall
He said We haven't had that tractor here since 1969
And still those cows are mooing from far away
Wake you up in the middle of the night
Just to hear them moo

Welcome to the Happy Cow Farm
Such a bovine place
Such a bovine place (background)
Such a bovine face
They're livin' it up at the Happy Cow Farm
What a nice cowpie
What a nice cowpie (background)
Bring your baby calves

Milking machines on the wall
Pink cow udders on display
And she said
We are all just prisoners here
Of the milking machine
And in the farmer's dining room
They gathered for the feast
They st*b it with their old knives
But they just can't kill the roast beast
Last thing I remember
I was running for the farm door
I had to find the road back to the place I was before
Relax said the farmer
We are destined to milk cows
You can ride the tractor any time you like
But you can never leave

Try some of the classic orchastrated elton john (pre goodbye yellowbrick road)..

Best of that bunch of albums would be Madman across the water (1971). Soothing vocals and great MUSIC.
